There's so much to do in Bermuda. You can get a hop on/hop off bus pass and explore the island. There are several nice beaches, Horse Shoe Bay, Tobacco Beach, Elbow Beach, and Katherine's Beach. When you get off the ship find the tourist bureau and pick up a map of the island and other tourist information. If you make it to St George's they have re-enactments in the Town Square of a town dunking. You can pick up walking maps of each town too - King's Wharf, Hamilton, and St George's. There's a lot of history in Bermuda. If you like light houses stop at Gibb's Lighthouse and climb to the top. There's swim with the dolphins, a maritime museum, glass blowing demonstration, botanical gardens, golfing, water cave, walking and hiking trails. It all depends what you like to do. One thing for sure, you shouldn't be bored.
Cruise Fanatic said it all. we love Bermuda and have been 3 times, just got back June 23rd. I love docking in the Royal Ship Yard, there is a lot to do there as well. Don't miss a trip to Horse Shoe Bay or one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We also took the Summitt, and I love that ship as well....great crew
Thanks for the replies. We have been on 6 Royal Caribbean cruises and this will be our first Celebrity cruise. I am kinda nervous and hope we are happy with it.
Have either of you done the Segways? We have seen them on other islands and they look like fun so we are considering them. What about Harbor nights - Is this worth going to? Should we book an excursion to Harbor nights through the ship? It kind of seems useless to me as I think we can do it on our own. I am not planning on any ship excursions as it looks like we can do it on our own. Can't wait! Hope the ship is nice. I have read both good and bad reviews. She is older so I kind of expect it to show a little wear.
How should the weather and water temp be that time of year?
You will be docking at the Royal Shipyard, the Segways are right there for you. I have not tried them, but you are correct everyone looked liked they were have a great time. I don't know what Harbor nights are....please tell me. The Summitt was a pleasure, and you can read a review I just did under Celebrity titled...
"Just back from the Summitt" it may help a little. You won't go wrong. Don't be nervous, I booked the sister ship "Infinity" to So American and have been on the Constellation twice...no complaints !! The weather should be PERFECT 85 degrees
We did the glass-bottom boat tour of the Bermuda triangle at night. It was a lot of fun. We had a great captain/tour guide and it was truly amazing. Yours would be even better, as the water is warmer and the more colorful fish are around. You could book it at the pier, but it was only 5 dollars more to book on the ship. And because we had booked an excursion, we were able to buy our bus passes from guest services and didn't have to wait in the line getting off the ship.
Just make sure you bring rain gear. As beautiful as Bermuda is, they have an average of 180 days of rain, and it is usually windy!
