What to do in Key West?

Have Key West in mind and was wondering just how big is Key West? Easily walkable in a few hours?

Definitely a walking town.....just get off the ship and follow the sights and sounds that attract you. Depending on the amount of port time you are scheduled for, you can include a museum tour, easily purchased on your own. The map given to by the ship is sufficient for finding your way around and pointing out highlights. If history is your thing, the Hemingway house or the Little White House are great, Pirate Museum or Mel Fisher Museum are other options. I often enjoy the many artists galleries, try to find a Wyland one, for the sea life. Or just head up Duvall for an education of all things possible or improbable, and few good drinks to help soak it all in.

Well there is about only one direction you can go on US 1 from there. I enjoyed Key West for having a Caribbean feel but still in the US. I honestly thought that I could stay there and leave the ship but it is just the illusion of bein care free and realith sunk in

OK....a couple of suggestions....Irish Kevins for Jaeger Bombs, Fat Tuesday for a High Octane, Louie's After Deck for a Mojito, and Schooner Wharf for the coldest draft on the water....take a taxi back

Fudge. Fudge shops with every kind of
fudge you can think of. Don't miss that.
Perfume shops.
JEWELRY SHOPS. I got two pairs of gold
earrings and a ring that everyone comments
on in Key West. And you can do a little
bargaining.
I had a funny experience there - I was so busy
shopping and looking for the perfume store, that
I lost my bearings and was headed in the opposite direction of the ship. I stopped to ask
a young waiter walking down the street and he told me I'd never make it back to the ship in time - told me to come with him, he'd speak to
the owner of his restaurant - well there was the
owner of the restaurant, bearded, pony tail and
a fairly gay guy - I dont remember if he was tattooed or not the nicest people! He told me
I wouldn't make it back to the ship and they'd leave me - wait here - he's going to get his "hog" and drive me back. There he came with his harley - now I'm a lady in my 50's and in a skirt - haven't been on a motorcycle since my 20's - but I got on and he rode me back to the ship - with his pony tail and my hair flying. Big grin. Was the best experience I had had in a long long time and I'm still smiling broadly thinking about it. Nice nice people there.

The Old Town Trolley sounds like a great way to see Key West! Do you know the cost of an all day pass? Would we be able to get off the trolley at Ernest Heminway's House or do we need to take an excursion?
