DH, myself, BFF and her DH are all going on the Crown Princess in Feb 2011. As you can see DH and myself have never been on a princess ship before. Looking forward to it though as BFF went on her first cruise last Feb (princess) and is now hooked, but unfortunately as it was her first cruise she has nothing to compare to. Would love to hear from others that have been on the Crown

Hi Fluffyterry, welcome to Cruise-Chat! If you enjoy Royal,I think you will have no problem with Princess at all. Princess does not have all the bells and whistles that Royal has, but they do offer a great product. They are our favorite line, so far. We've sailed on Carnival, Costa, Celebrity, HAL, RCI, NCL and Princess. Princess is just a great fit for us. Their ships are immaculate, their service is impeccable, and their food is wonderful(at least in my opinion). We've sailed on the Sea, Sun, Dawn, Caribbean, Emerald, and Royal. I have seen the Crown in port and she's a beauty. She's a little larger than the Sea, Sun, and Dawn but not as large as the Emerald. All Princess ships have the Movies Under the Stars. I believe the Crown has the Sanctuary. It's a marvelous adult area. They have a good gym, salon, barber shop, spa, sauna, fresh water pools, nice shops, good shows, casino, lounges, etc. Wish we were sailing with y'all!

Best wishes!

Hi Fluffyterry
I sailed the Crown transatlantic in May 2010 and just loved the ship. She is easy to navigate, the food was really good and varied, the staff friendly and smiling. We particularly enjoyed the Piazza area as we had a lot of at sea days..the International Cafe for a continental style breakfast or soup, salad and sandwich lunches and the HUGE scoops of homemade ice cream (1.00 per scoop) The piazza also has the coffee bar for cappucinos, lattes etc (buy the coffee card if you are indulding) and in the afternoon, warm cookies and milk!!!! You won't regret your choice of ships..
Can you tell, I'm a Princess fan as well....

Hi Fluffyterry, as you can see, we also are booked on the Crown in Feb 2011 and this will be our first experience on a Princess ship. Similar experience on this end as well; my brother sailed on a Princess in Jan and was hooked as well and asked if we would join them
on their next cruise. Can't wait either.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I usually post on cruise critic, but found this site and thought I might be able to get some different views. My DH is for the bells and whistles, me not so much. The best ship so far for me was the Radiance RCCL and it was great, just R&R, which I like not fond of long lines to get into or see different things, so I am sure I will love Princess. I am really looking forward to MUTS, and the Plowmans lunch (I know thinking of food already)

From what I have read I think I will enjoy the Piazza area also. We have a balcony on the Emerald deck - yes that is covered so should be great and BFF and her DH have the room next door. Like I said I convinced to go on her first cruise last year, the Emerald and she was hooked. We found about this cruise and decided to go with them, as we always wanted to try the Princess line. should be great

Wow what a coincidence we had originally thought of going on the 19th of Feb (we could have been cruise mates) but by going on the 19th we are celebrating my birthday which falls just before and my BFF's birthday is just after, so we are celebrating both while on the cruise
