On one of our recent Princess cruise aboard the CP we were told that even though we had "Priority Tender Embarkation" tickets that we had to wait until ALL the tours had boarded the tenders before we could board. On all of our previous cruises we had always been able to just join the tour people & leave when ready. Has anyone else encountered this ruling? I've e mailed Princess's Captainís Circle two times for a clarification with no reply.

Hi RichC, yes we have encountered this. They boarded all the tours first, then started boarding the Priority people. It didn't take long, I think we waited 30 minutes.

The tours get preference because of the timing of the busses and tour vehicles...We've done both and never had to wait long after the tours are off and running....besides, they leave usually very early in the morning.....Happy Sailing...

I'm fully aware that their tours get preference but in the past, Princess had an Elite perk that used to allow the members to have priority tender boarding. They were allowed to board as soon as the tenders were in operation & not wait until all the tours had completed their loading. This can sometimes amount to 30-45 minutes depending on how rough the water is and how many people have signed up for tours. It seems as though it's another perk they've taken away-along (or at least cut back on). Now if they really wanted to add a perk for the repeaters they could have a separate line for unloading on the piers. One with the photog's for new comers & a separate line with no photog's for the Diamond & above. BTW- still no answer from Princess about the clarification.
