corabeth: we just returned from the Island Princess Sept 18. our room was Caribe 637, it is a class BD balcony. its balcony is larger than the normal ones in that class plus you are overviewing the ship with no obstuctions. its towards the rear of the ship so you get your exercise to and from the resturants,( that way you can eat more without feeling guilty). its on the starboard side of the ship. we took the southern cruise as we did 3 days on land first. don,t know if you have a preference which side of the ship you are on but it worked out well for us because we had the afternoon and evening sun so we could comfortably use the balcony in shorts and tee shirts. we were very fortunate to have 10 of 11 days of sunshine while in Alaska.
