This ship is the old Renaissance 4 and begins cruising in Tahiti in Dec. I am considering going next summer with my grown daughter. My only experience is with the Radisson Paul Gaugin in Tahiti - hubby and I had a wonderful time, and I loved the ship. Wondering what the rest of you think about this Princess cruise vs. the Gaugin. This cruise will be less money than the Radisson, and has the advantage of visiting Raratonga in addition to the Tahitian islands. Any comments?

I'm booked on the Tahitian Princess over Thanksgiving 2003. Looking forward to this cruise option.

Hey, CruisAholic I thought the first voyage for the Tahitian was Dec. 24th. Did you go? How was it? I'm booked for Jan. 23rd.

We are sailing on the Jan 23 cruise. Previously sailed on Ren 7 day Tahiti in June 2000. The only thing I missed on the Ren ships was the lack of refrigerators. Please tell me Princess installed them on the Tahitian Princess refit? We had to take along a folding thermal cooler on the Ren.

My travel agent had suggested this ship for our first cruise. The location/destination looks fabulous, but we were afraid that the ship might not have enough bells or whistles for a couple our age (mid-30s), also the airfare was a choker. We've selected a Celebrity Caribbean cruise (less than 2 weeks to go now!), but I eagerly await your opinion on the Tahitian princess.

Chump 1!
What Celebrity ship are you doing the Caribbean on? Let me know on the Celebrity/RCL site. Interested in which direction you're going.

I just read on an other board a first report from a woman who is on the inaugural cruise.
She tolds:
The only cabins that have fridges are the minisuites and suites.
