The driing distance is not a problem, being an Australian I am used to driving long distances.

As a teenager I used to drive 150 miles just to get a decent hamburger.

My problem is driving on the other side of the road, I dont want to make a mistake and put peoples lives at risk.

I have just looked at either flying or travel by train... leaning towards the train as to get home we will be flying + layovers for 33hrs a few days later. Anyone have any opinions on your Amtrak systems?

They have done a very decent job with their train system in Florida, they just need to expand it a little more. I can understand not wanting to drive on the other side of the road, and believe me, drivers in Florida like to go fast. I used to take the train when I lived there, but that's been years ago. If the price isn't bad, it would probably be a fun way to go. There is probably bus service there as well, but I think I'd prefer the train. There isn't much to see in Central Florida, but it would be a nice way to spend a couple of hours. I hope you will be able to spend a few days in Florida, there are some fun places to visit and Tampa/St. Pete area has some nice beaches, too.
