Crown Princess vs. Costa Magica

Looking at going on either the Crown Princess or Costa Magica, I have never been on either line. We will be going to the Caribbean on Feb 17. Looking for help.

So you're looking 11 months ahead, right? (Just checking to make sure we read the right date.) That's great, gives you plenty of time to plan.

Are you a couple? What is your general age group? Are you bringing children or elderly parents? Those are basic questions which can help us be of help to you. What cruise line(s) have you been on so far? What did you like about them, or not like about them?

OK - then we can start with suggestions!

We are a couple with 2 kids - 12 & 14. We have been on RCCL and Carnival. Liked the Adventurer of the Seas. We like the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. We do the shows, Casino, Island tours and just lay in the Sun. We get good use of the fitness centers also.

I have been on both the Golden Princess and Costa Magica. I would recommend Costa Magica but only because you have two teenagers. If it was just you and your husband then Princess. My Costa ship had over 600 kids on board and most were teens. 2 discos and one was just teens. I talked with a family with two girls that age and they were having a blast and found plenty of friends. On princess you will not see kids- I think I saw 4 the whole cruise and 2 were in the room next to us (I don't know if they hide the kids or their just weren't any). Costa was proud to have so many kids and anounced it many times that they were over 600 for this trip. They offered a special for kids sail free (17 and under is what they consider a kids) so you could get your 12 & 14 yr old free. Many kids/family friendly events- I think I saw 2 senior citizen couples the whole time (where princess they were a majority). The food is not as good (on Magica) but I still enjoyed. The decor is not as nice either (magica is boarderline tacky and princess is classy).
