Awesome ship with incredible service.
A balcony on the starboard side is a must.
The stern pool area was my favorite outdoor spot.
Food was good but on the bland side.
Lobster was not firm two out of three times.
I didn't think Sabitinis was worth it.
The filets were ordinary at best.
We brought on whatever "provisions" we wanted at any time.
The one item we missed the most from home was cremora for coffee.
The bedding was terrific.
You can do the excursions on your own except the Capri/Sorrento/Pompeii trip.
If you like slots play the Hot Penny Blue Lagoon and select the 20+ feature and keep hitting the flashing button. Made a lot of money.
Internet was real slow so it was free.
Don't miss the gardens in Monte Carlo-ville and Oia in Santorini.
Would not advise people of unsure footing to visit the Acropolis.
In Kudassi you will be hassled like nothing you can beleive.
Most people didn't wear tuxes in anytime dining.

Have breakfast and lunch in the Da Vinci room unless you like feeling like a pinball and playing musical chairs. You don't have the selections from the Horizon or Caribe but you get a great menu with fressly made items and white coat service.
The Caribe deck has much bigger balconies than the other non suite rooms.
Go to deck 19 when coming into Venice to get good views.
Princess has a list of about 60 hotels(reglar price, not in brochure) that they will deliver your luggage to in Venice. Unless you pay for a private transport you will really enjoy this feature if you have a lot of luggage.
Thank you for your review stevep, we will be on her in November (Caribbean though). I am so excited to be on a brand new Princess ship. Princess is my favorite line, so far. Sorry to hear the food wasn't that good, we've always had great food, except once on the Sun (but even then it was better than HAL). My hubby is really looking forward to the sushi. Welcome back, time to start planning your next one!
Penny, that's an interesting comment that you liked even the less-than-best food on Princess better than HAL; that's the first time I've heard that. HAL must have hit a rough patch. I guess I'll find out next month.
You must wonder what type of personality it takes to make a pot shot at someone making a innocent personal observation.
For the record we had an incredible cruise and it was really hard to come up when anything remotely disappointing. I think Princess did a great job on the food overall considering the number of people and the different personal tastes they had to try and please.
F-mattox, it was probably my taste, but HAL's food was not to my liking. It was pretty bland and definitely not creative. Of course, food is very subjective, and I'm really into sauces and soups. The selection on HAL was to me, basic. I'm by no means a food critic, so I'm sure you will have a wonderful culinary experience on board. Best wishes!
