Only four more days to our cruise on Sun Princess. As much as we have a reasonable experience, it occured to me to ask about tipping
for the room service, breakfest or lunch, for example. We have never used the room service before - is it our cabin steward or entirely a new person that delivers the food? Do I add the tip to the bill, or does it go directly to the service person? And then, how much?
Thanks a lot.

Sometimes it's your cabin steward, but often it's another crew member that brings room service. You should tip him/her in cash at the time - I'd suggest $2-5, depending on the size of your order. (Hopefully I'm not too cheap!)

Thanks Karen,
you are a great lady.
Tomorrow is the day, one day pre-cruise in FtL.
Not without a glitch, cut my forefinger yesterday
and it took 5 hrs in Emergency to get stitches.
This on Sunday PM, instead of packing!
Have a nice week.

You can have a lot of fun and really impress your room servers. Get some $2 bills from your bank and use them for tips for your servers. They rarely if ever have seen a $2 bill and your tip becomes the talk of the kitchen. (Except if you've been on a ship we have been on.) By mid week, the servers are anxious to deliver your order, to get another one of those strange bills.

Warm regards,
Tom & Mary

Most tipping is done at the end right?? Who else other than room service would you suggest giving out those $2 bills to?? Thanks for any suggestions!

I have always found that it is better to tip the person providing the room service a good amount as it seems to encourage better service from that point forward. It is really a very insugnificant amount for the service provided.
