Fuel Surcharge

We will be cruising on the Princess Grand November 10th. The cruise line is (or has) added a fuel surcharge. Since the price of oil has dropped so much, any chance they will drop the fuel surcharge?

That is all too true for this kind of thing. The surcharge amount might vary, but it won't go away entirely.

I just read that Carnival Corp. plc is suspending fuel surcharges on all its North American brands effective on all sailings on and after December 17, 2008. Passengers past the final payment period will receive rebates in the form of onboard credit. Those who have not made final payment will receive an adjustment in their invoice.

Good news!

They reserve the right to reinstate the surcharge if the price of light sweet crude goes above $70.00 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

That would be great. Our July Holland America Cruise is paid for, but SBC is fine with me.

hello folks...I just received notification that I have received a $63.00 shipboard account credit because Princess has reduced the fuel surcharge. Not sure what that is in US dollars!

Congratulations travel bugs, just keep praying oil will stay below $70/bbl. If the OPEC twits get their way, it won't, but I hope they don't get their way!

I am cruising Jan 30/09 Grand, and have recieved back the fuel surcharge to my shipboard credit.
