They do have a few of the photo's produces in the $10 size but most of the time they blow up the photo's to 8x10 which cost $20 hopeing that people will spring for the extra large size. Consequently we don't buy any in the last few years. We used to always but the embarkation photo but that stopped when they raised their prices.
Actually $20.00 for an 8x10 isin't too bad if you get a good one on formal night, considering you are not paying for a sitting. Some of our best portraits are formal night ship photos.
I suppose not considering there an 8x10 but all I really want is a 4x6 or 5x7 to remember out cruise by. Even the photo's they used to print now have a large border around them & are printed in large format. I looked around for in my old Patters for discount prices & still can't seem to find much but here's an offer that was on the Caribbean Princess last year.
I don't recall if there was a discount price for the smaller photo's or not but the days of buying a 4x6 photo from them seem to be gone. They print everything large.
We just got home March 22 and the price is now $24.95 for the portraits that use a professional sitting. They print 8x10, but if you prefer a different size, they still charge $24.95, even if you want a 4x6 of the same shot. The pictures taken without the formal sitting were $12.95. They had buy 5 and get the 6th one one free but they all had to be the formal photos to get the free one. You don't need to accept the one they print and they will reprint any picture and lose the tacky border - same price.
They don't offer any postcards, which was the best deal on Royal Caribbean, or discount packages where you could get a variety of sizes.
All of our friends agree that the most impressive photos (even casual night)are the ones with the all white background. The focus is really on you and not a fake background. You can ask the photographers which nights the white backgrounds are available. The plain background might sound dull, but the result is usually, Wow.
