We are sailing on the Emerald Princess, departing May05 - there seems to be very confusing reports on wether you can bring wine on board the ship either at the beginning or while in port. Can someone please clarify Princess' postion? Please let me know your experiences
This is right from Princess' Cruise Answer Book;
"You may bring wine or champagne onboard to celebrate special occasions. If consumed in the dining rooms or alternative restaurants, each bottle will be subject to a $10 corkage fee."
Somewhere in my pre cruise documents it was suggested that we bring the Cruise Answer Book along; I would do this. Then if some gung ho Princess person challenges you, you can show him in writing what the policy is.
What a "special occasion" is is up to you, not them.
We've always taken wine onboard and never had a problem. We were on a 19 day Full Canal Transit cruise last May on the Coral Princess. Took a case of wine on and then in every port DH bought a different 6pk of local beer. They never even questioned it.
We'll be taking wine on again on our up coming 15 day Hawaii cruise on the Island Princess.
