Just wondering if anyone has stayed on the Emerald deck. We have a mini suite E728. I noticed that almost all categories on this level have either obstructed/partially obstructed view. The min sutie doesn't say but are you looking at the life boats when ever you are on your balcony. Also how was it at the back of the boat for motion? Thanks
Leigh

Leigh,

While I have not yet cruised on the Grand I have been in the very AFT cabin on the Star.
I had no problem with motion at all.
Great cabin location - very quiet - up a few stairs to the Terrace Pool, a few more to Horizon Court.

Partially obstructed views can vary. Some may only allow light to filter in while others you may be able to see out some.

Good Luck & Enjoy your cruise.

Cathy

I have a good friend who had this cabin on one of Grand Princess' sister ships. I visited the cabin and did not recall a view obstructed by lifeboats -- I believe you're too far back for that. They told us that they heard absolutely no noise from the show lounge below... hopefull the same is true for Grand Princess.

Leigh - we stayed in mini-suite E718 on the Grand which is a little further forward than your E728. This is indeed the lifeboat deck, however the lifeboats are further forward of the mini suites and therefore do not obstruct the view from the balcony at all.We had no problem at the back of the ship with motion issues and as this was our first cruise, I'm, sure we would have noticed if there were. As Lisa P says, the show lounge is directly below the Emerald deck mini-suites and I have to say some days we did hear faint sounds from below, but generally only during the day when we were on the balcony and it was pretty quiet, and rarely at night. The sounds were however pretty faint and certainly not loud enough to distract us unduly or to cause us a problem. We loved our mini-suite and the Grand Princess, and in fact are about to rebook for 2007 we enjoyed it so much.
You'll have a great time.
