Does Princess have smoking and non-smoking cabins on different sides of the ship as some other lines do?

Yes they do.
Also there is no smoking in any of the dining areas. And parts of the ship that are indicated as smoking.

Which side of Princess ships are typically non-smoking; port or starboard? Thank you for your help.

We were recently on the Diamond. Our cabin was on the starboard side. If there are non smoking cabins Princess should publish it. We are non smokers and have not heard of this. The smoke was not a problem except in the casino and Sports bar. Most lounges had designated smoking areas. I know that there were passengers smoking on their balcony and the smoke would find its way into ours. It would be nice to sit on the balcony and breath fresh air and not second hand smoke.

I was on the Sapphire Princess and the Smoking was anywhere except the dining rooms. I found no nightlife for non-smokers because even thought you could not smoke in 1/2 of the lounge smoke travels no matter how good the ventilation is. We wasted our money on a balcony because all our neighbors smoked. Even our cabin previously had smokers in it. There is no such thing as a non-smoking cabin.
