I've cruised single before I married my husband. I didn't go looking to hook up, I went to enjoy the cruise and the Caribbean. Tell your friend it is one of the best vacations he'll ever have whether he hooks up or not. He can meet all kinds of interesting people, but he can also have a wonderful experience. Who knows, he may or may not meet someone, but why not enjoy the pleasure of the ship, the ocean, the ports, the food, and the truly relaxing time he'll have. Tell him to give it a try, I'll bet he'll love it!!
