Golden Princess Embarking

Has anyone boarded Princess in New Orleans yet? I received a e-mail stating not to attempt to board before 1PM and there was no place to wait.

I cruised Carnival in New Orleans before and we always were on the ship by 12PM with no problems.

We leaving December 16th

We received the message from the travel agent.

We always cruised on Carnival before and embarking was GREAT. I hope this time it will go smooth also. I'll let you know.

I emailed the port of New Orleans to question this and they responed the following:
[COLOR:RED]Go to our website at www.portno.com and click onto the cruise section,then on passenger information then on parking, map and directions. In that section you will find the directions to the Poland Ave. cruise facility.

We have facilities at Poland Ave., but what Princess means is that the facilities are limited and small (it is a temporary facility in tents),so they want to have the disembarking passengers clear the terminal area before the embarking passengers start arriving to reduce the congestion.
There is a parking lot adjacent to the terminal for passengers, and minimum passenger amenities within the terminal facility, but it will be functional and ADA friendly.
