Traveling with teenagers to Alaska on Sapphire this July. One teen is 18 years 3 months, the other is 11 years 5 months. As you can see not quite in the age limit of 12-18 for teen activities. Will they be able to participate?

Hi tvl, welcome to Cruise-chat. The 18 year old will be fine, and they have a group for the 11 year old as well. I would imagine they would let the 11 year old join in the 12-18 group, however. I hope you have a wonderful cruise experience and become hooked like the rest of us. Best wishes!

Thanks for the quick reply. The eleven year old wants to be with the rest of the gang, so here's hoping.

Actually we've cruised several times before. Did I click on the wrong box when I signed up? This is a trip with the kids and grandkids so I want to find out in advance a few things I've never run into before.

No, the ratings are from the number of posts you have. The more posts, the higher the ratings, ie they have me rated as a cruise guru. We've only sailed on 18 cruises, there are plenty on this board that have a whole lot more cruises under their belts. It's just that I've posted a lot. I really think they'll let the 11 year old hang out with the rest of the group, especially since 11 years and 5 months so close to 12. I remember when it was so important to be so many years and so many months and so many days old, now...well, not so much Have a great time!
