What's the difference in mini suite categories on crown Princess? Some are AA, AB, AC, AD, & AE. Are the rooms basically the same size and layout? AA is more expensive than say AC...is this due to location on ship?

Have not sailed on the Crown Princess but I'm sure the answer is the same as for all of the other Princess ships. Yes, it is location. You will find the AA rooms are more mid ship. Lower deck cabins forward and aft have the higher (ie AE)letters and then working up and towards mid ship the lower (ie AA) letters. Look at the deck plans on the Princess web site and you will see the categories and can look and get an idea of what I'm talking about. Also frequently the AE mini suites do not have a balcony so they are priced in the B (balcony) cabin range. Other than that the layout would be identical. When you read square footage of balcony cabins it includes the balcony and depending on the deck the balcony could be much larger.

BJS is right on;
all the mini-suites on Crown Princess are on Dolphin deck, except for a few aft on Emerald deck. All of those on Dolphin deck are the same size except for four wheelchair accessable cabins; and the twelve on Emeald Deck are slightly smaller.
All mini-suites on Crown Princess have balconies; Island Princess and Coral Princess have some with no balconies--what would have been balcony area is incorporated into the cabin; needless to say, they are quite roomy.
The layout for all mini-suites is the same, so the price difference, as you correctly surmised, is based on location, location, location.
Wouldn't it be a mind-blower to find out I've never actually been on a cruise--to find out I'm just a guy in his basement with a computer and a huge stack of Princess brochures and memorabilia? Got ya' thinkin', didn't I!
