Princess has cancelled all Caribbean Princess cruises that were to depart between April 5 and 19, 2009, to hold an undefined "government conference". The government involved and the specific reason for the conference were not released. This essentially means if you were booked on any April sailing, you no longer are so.

Princess will be notifying booked passengers to offer them alternative cruises or refunds.

seems rather arrogant to me....that government folk feel they are so important they can have Princess cancel cruises that people have planned for. Good to know that government in your country is no different than government in my country

Actually we don't know which government chartered the ship, although given it's itinerary the U.S. is the obvious suspect. However it could be another country. Perhaps some association of states. I'm sure more will come out about it.
