Grand Princess

Taking a cruise on Grand Princess out of Galveston during December this year. Has anyone taken a cruise out of Galveston? How are their facilities?

I have gone on the Princess Lines several times, but never the Grand Princess. How is it?

How are the shore excursions on this trip? Anything that is a must do or must not do?

Galveston is a nightmare. There is one road leading to the cruise terminal, and basically you have to be ready to throw your bags out and jump out of the car when you embark, and give up an hour minimum looking for a parking shuttle after you get back. If you book a cruise line transfer you will be much better off.

Thank you very much for your reply. We will be flying in. Would it help if we came in the day before and took a cab out late morning?

We've sailed the Grand twice to the western Caribbean. Loved it both times. I doubrt Princess has a bad ship.

Swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman is a must.
We also swam with dolphins in Cozumel. It,too, was a blas, but the more I've read, the more I've begun to wonder if we should be encouraging the capture, training, and imprisonment of these intelligent mammals for uor own enjoyment. But they're there, so swim with them, enjoy it, and think about it afterward! The dolphin swim is in a wonderful state park that deserves a half-day by itself.
