Hi everyone yet another question i bet you lot are getting fed up of me by now never mind only six days to go, how do the coffee cards work do you get one each or one per cabin also the speciality coffees do they do Baileys and is hot chocolate also included.
many thanks
Each person buys their own card and it is punched each time you use it; drinks with alcohol are extra (Bailey's, cafe royale, etc.); I don't know about hot chocolate--we never ordered it.
Julie, you get 15 specialty coffees (cappacino (sp), lattes, or espresso. It used to be that you also get unlimited brewed and delicious coffee by showing the card. Now many ships are discontinuing this and punching the card or charging for the brewed coffee (shame on Princess for this!). I know that the Dawn is one of the ships that has cracked down on this, and am not sure of others. Maybe recent Princess cruisers can help us out here.
My wife just got of the Golden Princess and she said the coffee in the dining room and Horizon Court was very good (imagine that!); so she only used the card for speciality coffees.
No (other than a customary tip). However, room service, the buffet and the coffee served in the main dining rooms are all made from syrup, and IMHO are lousy. The only good coffee is the specially brewed coffee in the areas where they make specialty coffees.
Hi, we went on the Diamond to Alaska and the coffee in the dinning room and buffet was excellence, so there is no requirement to buy a coffee card. It's not the same as Tim Horton coffee, but it was still good, no one can beat the Tim Horton coffee.
Coffee is about as subjective as pizza--everybody has a different idea of what is good. On our last three cruises, on Island Princess, Sapprire Princess, and Grand Princess, we, like SD Cruiser, thought the dining room and buffet coffee was pretty bad. But then my wife comes home from Golden Princess and tells me how good the regular coffee was--and she is much more critical than I. So I guess you just have to see for yourself.
As for the Hot Chocolate question- my wife drinks lots of hot chocolate and on the 3 cruise lines we have been on (CCL,RCCL and NCL) the hot chocolate was included (free). I don't know why you would pay extra or use your up your coffee card "points" for it. I would imagine that Princess has it free also (since they are a Carnival company)
