I asked somebody about that on my last cruise; his reply, "when you have a design that works, you stick with it."
Pretty slick reply, huh?
Island Princess and Coral Princess are substantially different. The only way I can tell Grand Class from the rest is the location of Skywalker's. And Crown, Caribbean and Emerald have the extra deck of cabins.
Great pictures f-mattox, thank you so very much. Maybe it's my imagination, but the Emerald looks larger. Is that a junior suite? We just had a balcony on the Baja deck and ours didn't include a couch. However, our balcony room on the Mediterranea included a couch-it was a very large cabin.
It's not your imagination, Penny: Emerald Princess is larger--one deck larger. And that is a mini-suite; you have to go to a mini to get the sitting area and sofa. Princess cabins are not overly generous. We had an oceanview on Veendam last summer that had a bathtub and a sofa.
MrsB, according to your cruise ticker you are on the Septerber 27 sailing. I'm just two weeks behind you, on October 11. If I can answer any questions or show you any other parts of the ship, please just ask.
