Has anyone experienced any changes in their itinerary due to the awful weather in the Caribbean? My husband and I are scheduled to sail on the Caribbean Princess on October 15th and we are concerned about all the depressions that are out there. We are sailing the Eastern Caribbean.
geri, both of the above posters offered some great advise. Don't get too caught up in what the weather is going to be doing, as stated the captians main priority is to make sure that the passengers of his ship have a great time but first priority is to make sure that the passengers are safe. We have been on many ships during the October "hurricane" season, and never knew there was bad weather out there. In fact while Katrina was in the gulf we were doing a western caribbean and never saw any bad weather until the day we docked back into Ft Lauderdale. If the captain has to miss a port, you will either be taken to another port of call, or you will have a great sea day. In fact, the sea days are some of my favorites, there isso much to see and do on the ships. Just go and don't focus on the weather, and plan on having the time of your life.
