Spent a lovely day yesterday onboard the Crown Princess. She is a beauty for sure.
Did bring the camera. I apologize for some of the darker shots. Have yet to master my new digital.
Here is a link to see the photos:

We were allowed to board at 11:30am. Given time to tour the ship on our own until lunch was served at 12:30. Excellent luncheon. The food & service outstanding.
I was amazed how many friends I have working onboard.
*Tom & Mary - Generoso say Ciao to you both. He is awaiting you to come visit.
I know I MUST go for a Crown cruise before she leaves NY.

Sorry to keep this brief, as I am off to Yankee Stadium for Old Timers Day.

Thank you so much for those beautiful informative pictures. Are you a travel agent ? We are not. Were you on this for the cruise or just for info? And if you were on this for the whole cruise what tours were you on and how did you like the itinery? Do you like traditional or open seating dining? If you cruised what are the pros and cons? And any other info you can give us would be most appreciative. We have an outside balcony-deluxe. Did you get a chance to see it? We are from South Orange, nj. We are big cruisers.

Hello Paul,

Glad you enjoyed the photos of the Crown. She really is a beauty. Larger than I usually like to cruise with 3150 pax onboard.

Let me try to answer some of your questions.
I am not a travel agent. Just someone who loves to cruise. I have cruised only with Princess sinec 1996 & LOVE Princess Cruises.
Over the years I have made some great friends with crew & often go to visit them.

I was invited to the Crown Princess to attend a VIP Captain's Circle Luncheon. We got to spend 4 hours onboard. Let me tell you it was a wonderful 4 hrs. and VERY tough to leave indeed.
There is a very good chance I will book the Crown before they leave NYC this fall.

While onboard we were allowed to explore on our own. We saw many cabins. Sorry I did not take photos of the other cabins. I am so used to them did not think of taking photos really.
Have never had a suite yet. I usually cruise alone, and it would be a small fortune to book a suite. Balcony cabins are great. I always say for certain cruises a balcony is a must. But, again, if I can book 2 cruises with inside cabins for the price of one balcony I'll take the opportunity to cruise more.

On the Crown there are many dining options.
I always would go for traditional late seating. But lately have done more of the Anytime Dining option. This allows me the flexibility to spend time with my crew friends.

One of my favorite spots on the Crown is the new Sanctuary. WOW. I do look forward to trying this out.
I also liked their Sabatinis.

Hope I have replied to your questions. Let me know if I can be of any more help.

When are you going on the Crown???

Hi Susie,
Great pictures!! She is a beauty! I keep waiting for Princess to post next fall's itinerary, but they haven't yet. I'd love to do a 2 week Caribbean on her. Oh well, have to wait until they update their website. Thank you so much for the pictures and your time. Best Wishes!!

Wonderful photos! Thank you for sharing them with us. The Sanctuary looks lovely to me, too.

And I also enjoyed the photos of/from Red Hook. They are the first I've seen other than official marketing photos.

HI All,

So glad you enjoyed the photos of the new Crown Princess - she sure is a beauty.

Paul, I am not sure mentioning my name will get you anyplace, but, go for it.
Generoso is the Maitre D. He's one of the BEST in the fleet. I know you will be taken well care off.

How wonderful you are breaking the Crown in "family style".
I was offered a great deal to cruise Sept. 12. However I much prefer the Eastern route to return to Bermuda & am looking to see about that. But, who knows I may be with you!
As for getting seasick - hard one to answer.
I was one who always got sick, even on the Port Jefferson Ferry. But, no more.
Sept. weather is unpredicatable too. I always go prepared with Bonnine - just in case.
Is your husband prone to seasickness?? If yes, I would go prepared. Many say ginger tablets work well. You can do a search here for more info on this as I know there is more info.
As for packing......
I tend to be an over packer. But, have gotten better. For a Caribbean cruise it's easy for me. Loads of bathing suits & cover-ups for daytime. I always bring a dress for every night for dinner. You'll have 2 formal nights.
You will see extremes in how pax dress for formal. You'll see those who dress to kill, and others who go slightly more casual. Be yourself & be comfortable.
Many cringe who I mention this but, there are laundry facilities onboard so you can cut down on the undies, pjs, etc needed - bring 1/2 & do a load of clothes.

Good Luck with your planning.
This site will give you loads of info.

Hi Cathy thanks for the tips I'm really over excited about this cruise I guess because it's my first. Cathy can you tell me how the tiping works I WAS TOLD YOU CAN HAVE 10.00 PER PERSON PER DAY charged to your credit card does this cover all the people you incounter in a day? allso do you happen to know how the casino works do you have to have cash on you to play and one more question do you know what they charge for a message and are they worth the money? Sorry to be such a pest! Hope you make it on Sept.12 would love to meet you. YOU SHOULD START YOUR OWN WEB SITE FOR CRUISERS you would be great!!!!!!!!

Vita, the $10 per person gratuity is $10 per passenger in your cabin, not $10 per crew member! Not to worry. And if you want to adjust the amount of gratuities you pay, you can do so at the purser's office before the end of your cruise. Just remember to notice how hard all those crew members work - and that they are paid very little.
