Kona and the Diamond Princess

The Diamond Princess will be stopping in Kona---we are thinking of get off the ship and hiring a Taxi to take us up the coast to see a very large Hilton Resort---any advise---would this be worth doing?

If you have looked at all the options and that is what you want to do, you should do it.

I have not been to the Hilton, but the big resorts I have seen are spectacular.

If it's the same Hilton resort we went by, it's beautiful. Have you been to the volcano? There are also some beautiful gardens with water falls there. I can't remember the name, but I couldn't get the waterfall into one frame on my camera. The big island is one of my favorites, all of the different colored beaches are magnificent. There are also some great golf courses.

Thank you for the info----what is the attire to eat in a 5 star hotel in Hawaii---is Jacket and Tie a must or are they less formal?

Kevin, it's Hawaii, man; whatever you feel comfortable in is fine--within reason. I was at the Royal Hawaiian in a Hawaiian shirt; and so was just about every other guy.
