We are taking the Dawn Princess to the Mexican Riviera in late Oct/05, and our cabin is far forward. I'm concerned about choppy waters on the trip down the coast from San Fran. Would it be worth the extra money to get a cabin more mid-ship? Thanks!
I would not waste the money, you are hardly in your room, bring some non-drowsy dramamine and you will be a OK! At night is the only time you will feel it, it is when they are moving the fastest and you are stationary, it more rocks you to sleep. But at the first sign of motion sickness take a dramamine, they work wonders!
I don't think you have to worry about choppy seas on such a large ship, it will be like a cradle if anything. Are you terribly prone to motion sickness?
October is still early for any large winter swells that would affect the trip south and also the return trip north. They usually start around November 15th or so and tend to peak in January. Even then it is only an isuue until you clear Pt. Conception.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Have a great cruise!
