I've been reading about a new tour that Princess is going to offer- The Ultimate Ship's Tour. You'll be able to see the bridge again along with the ships engine control room & laundry facilities. They'll be charging some where around $100 per person. You'll even get to have canapés & a drink with the Capt. on the bridge. I guess the excuse of not touring the bridge wasn't a security reason after all. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...s/icon_eek.gif

Wow! The tour really does include the laundry? You aren't just leading me on are you? I'd hate to get my hopes up. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_razz.gif

I'm kind of torn between, "gee, I'd kind of like to do that", and "that's outrageous that now you can do it if you PAY for it."

Is there no end to it?

Maybe you get a T-shirt for your $100, that says you got ripped off $100 for being showen around the ship lol

Still if you can afford it and it's what you are into, I guess it's worth it

It seems to be true. Do a search on "Ultimate Ships Tour" & you see where I was reading about it. There doesn't seem to be any end to the ways they can part you with you checkbook but I suppose there are some who value everything aboard the ship. Princess appears to be the leader with the innovative ideas for making a buck but at least it doesn't take anything away from me like the "reserved seating sections" of RCI. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...s/icon_mad.gif

None of it holds a lot of excitement for me, even when it was free. But I guess that might be true for a lot of former sailors. I don't care to see another engine room, bridge, galley, or laundry, even if it was free. As the Captain, I'd be offended to now be a revenue center for the shakedown of passengers.

I can't wait to tour the ship's laundry and the Dishwashing facility!

That's what they have kind of been all along; this just really brings it home.

That is what I meant. It is now a direct sale as opposed to the past practices. They'd probably make more money if they sold seats to eat dinner with the Captain. Of course if he had to miss because of a problem, they could substitute the Staff Captain and offer a $25 credit to your account. http://bestsmileys.com/lol/21.gif
