Hi Folks:
This will be our second cruise with Princess (if we decide on it). We have cruised with three other lines as well. Having tried others, we feel that Princess is more suited to our family.
My son has shown an interest in the above mentioned cruise. I was wondering if anyone who has been on this cruise can tell me if it is something a 16 year old kid would enjoy.
He is a good kid, very athletic, loves nature and the out doors and makes friends easily. I know that he would be disappointed if there were not other kids to hang out with on board. He is still in contact with friends he has made on other cruises. I think our days of family travel are numbered so I would like to make sure this will be a good trip for all of us.
Thanks in advance
Hi Mickey57, welcome to Cruise-Chat. While Princess is not known for a lot of children, there are usually some on board. It would definitely depend on the time of year, but since it looks like you're doing it during spring break, there should be more teens on board than usual. I haven't been on that particular itinerary, but know it would be packed with adventure. It would be something your son would never forget. How fortunate he is to have parents willing to expand his horizons with travel. Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!
Hi Penny3333
Thanks very much for your reply. I firmly believe that travel is an aspect of education that should not be overlooked. Cruising is an easy way to do it safely.
Have a wonderful week
Hi: Just wondering if you have decided to take this cruise. We have booked the same trip next year on the Royal Princess and would love to hear your feedback.
Enjoy your vacation, whatever it may be !!!
Hi cruzin4sun, welcome to Cruise-Chat. We did a 2 week on the Royal over Christmas. She's a great ship. I don't know if Sami will be your cruise director, but she was fantastic! I loved being on a small ship again. It was so easy to find your way around. Our cabin steward and wait staff were amazing. The casino is tiny, but we got to know a lot of the regulars. We got to meet more people on board, too. The food was good, the buffet is small, but had plenty to offer. They served ice cream and cookies every afternoon. The shows were very good, and we had a great New Year's Eve party. We had really bad weather the first 3 days, with really high seas. She rocked and rolled, but I loved it. Tendering was a breeze. I hope your cruise will be as great as ours was. Wish I could help you on your itinerary, but we did the Caribbean. Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!
OMG Penny! Your photos are awesome!! I was so excited as you had an album on the Emerald Princess. My hubby and I are taking this ship on the transatlantic voyage to Copenhagen in April of this year. Thanks so much for having these, as we just got our docs yesterday and the photos were a fabulous addition to our excitement! You must of spent plenty of time in the fitness center!! Thanks again for sharing these. Is it hard to put pictures on this website?
