Are you doing traditional or anytime dining? If you're doing traditional, see the maitre d' when you first board and request it. If you're doing Personal Choice, when you go down to dinner, specify that you do not want to share a table. The specialty restaurants can be called from your cabin for reservations, but do it early as they usually fill up quickly.

Hi John, welcome to cruise-chat! If you mean you'd like a table for two for the dining room every night and you are confirmed on one the the fixed seating times, don't wait until you board. Call your T/A and have the request made now. They take requests for table size at the time of the booking or anytime prior to your sailing date. You can, with Princess, request a tbl for 2,4,6,8 or 10. All requests are based on availability and I believe they sort them by the date/time the request was in. There are a limited number of tables for two so getting the request in early will increase your odds. then if you don't get assigned one, ask again when you get on the ship. Some people change their dining request to open or larger tables after they've been assigned, opening up a spot.

We just came back from The caribbean princess. In their main dining room they do not have tables for 2. So, we had the same table for 2 every night in one of their "any time Dining" reataurants. I booked a year in advance and the TA took care of this. The day we boarded we went directly to the maitre D to assure we had this table.

Thanks for the replies.Basically we would like to know how easy it is to book a table for 2 in the anytime restaurants on a Princess ship.
Have just returned from an NCL cruise and found booking very easy .

First let me say that we always eat early in the anytime restaurants & usually get a table for two. They're usually the first to fill up as as lots of people like the privacy. We've been on some Princess ships that will let you reserve the same table for 2 every evening & some ships that make you call each in each evening for reservations. The actual privacy it affords is limited since the tables are separated by only 6 or 8 inches on some ships - so it's almost like eating at a table for 4.
