This happened to us on the Sea Princess leaving Bonaire, once. It was truly spooky.

I wonder if they have a special vehicle lane into the ports when anything unexpected happens which will make some think they deserve big compensation? The sign on the lane says "ambulance chasing lawyers only".

Princess has announced that each cabin on the current cruise of the Emerald P will receive $300 in OBC. All pre-paid excursions for the missed stop at Princess Cays will also be credited to the onboard accounts.

The power loss is still being investigated. Despite earlier reports of it being computer related, Princess is bringing specialists aboard to look further into the event.

That's really generous. We didn't receive an OBC on the Sea Princess, but it didn't really cause us any problems. We didn't miss our next port since it was only 40 miles away

Still, there will be those that will come back and immediately start complaining and looking to sue.

You know it. A sad commentary on today's society.

Wow- I hope we lose power on our next trip. It seems they've gotten real generous lately.

I just got back off of the liberty on aug. 1.. We saw this Princess ship pass us up on our second day at sea.. We met up with it in St. Maarten. The people on there said it was completely dark..

I guess this is another reason to have a balcony, at least you can be outside and not with the unwashed masses

Does anybody know if they pinpointed the problem yet? Going on the Emerald in about a month and I don't want to be caught in the dark!

I haven't read anything about it, but then again, they usually don't do follow-ups when things are fixed. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It was probably just a fluke or someone plugged in the wrong thing. If there's a full moon, it can actually be quite beautiful. Very peaceful, too. Our power wasn't out more than an hour. I think the Emerald was 4 1/2, which is very odd. They have all kinds of "fail-overs" and backups, but something must have hiccuped. They sent an expert to figure it out, so I would think they indeed have solved the mystery.

I'm sure it's been fixed by now but since they were very generously compensated for missing one port there ahead of the game. We've had power outages before & were only given $75, port charges & a cold sandwich sitting on the deck for 4 hours.
