Good day, we are schedule on the June 9th cruise from Vancouver and then taking the 7 days land tour to Fairbanks. Our question is, how are the bugs/insects at this time of year. We are staying at the Kenai Lodge, Mt. Mckinley Lodge, Denali Lodge and then the Fairbanks Lodge. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

They are especially good deep fried with a dash of pepper and paprika....

Actually, I can't tell you much about the bugs at that time of year. Sounds like a great trip. No matter the bug issue, have a great time.

We were there in the third week of August & had no problems at all but I would suspect June to be closer to the peak of the insect season. Be prepared for the worst with lots of deet & long sleeve shirts.

We were in that area several years ago about the time that you will be there and didn't have many bugs. There were lots of mosquitos around the lakes in the Yukon at that time of year. They like cool wet areas and especially at sunrise and sunset.
