Sea Princess cruise dates

We are cruising on Sea Princess leaving Barbados on 31 October 2009
I notice that messages from J & S state that they departed from Barbados on 10 October (and I hope they are having a fantastic time)presumably for 2 weeks but there are messages from Sofar referring to departures on 17 October
I am confused as to how this ties in as all the cruises will be for 2 weeks.

Hi dingle, sometimes they will sell a 14 day in 2 7 day segments. For example, 1 7 day segment would be from Barbados to Ft. Lauderdale, and one would be from Ft. Lauderdale to Barbados. While someone else would have been sold 1 round trip 14 day Barbados to Barbados. Hope this helps.

Have you cruised on Sea Princess before
We have just done the one with Princess and that was on Island Princess

We have sailed on the Sea Princess twice, she is my favorite ship. We've also sailed on the Sun and the Dawn (her sister ships)the Emerald, Caribbean, and Royal, but the Sea still holds my heart. She's an easy ship to navigate, she's big, but not too big. Embarking and disembarking at ports is a breeze, very little waiting. The staff on both of our Sea cruises were absolutely fabulous and the food was excellent. She's recently been dry docked and had improvements made to an already great ship. The Movies Under the Stars had already been on board, but they added the Sanctuary area recently. I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

I reiterate all that Penny says although i think our next cruise will be on a bigger ship.

Also the sanctuary is $10.00 each just to let the people that are soon to be having a wonderful holiday.

well, that makes sense - on our 9/25-10/10 Panama canal voyage, Sea Princess had mostly UK folks who were sold 3 weeks cruise to Barbados, while most Americans were sold 2 weeks to Ft. Lauderdale - so all though the cruise one can hear 'are you going to Barbados?What Barbados?'lol
