Congratulations Rainbird, the Emerald is a beauty. Don't know if you looked at my pictures or not, but
here is a link. Be sure to visit the International Cafe on the Plaza deck, they have some free goodies and some extra charge goodies that are wonderful. They have 9 different flavors of gelato, 3 scoops for $1.50. You can get half day or full day passes to the Sanctuary. It is an adult only area with a Thollasas pool and massage tents. Absolutely beautiful. We just walked through a couple of times (no charge) and they didn't seem to mind me taking some pictures from there when we were coming into ports. We had a balcony cabin on the Baja deck, which was great. It took us a while to know our way around the ship, she's huge. If you try the specialty restaurants, try the Black and Blue onion soup in the Crown Grill. It is wonderful, they put Jack Daniels in the broth and blue cheese on top. I had it again on the Royal Princess a few weeks ago-awesome. If you go to Sabatini's, bring your appetite and plenty of time. It will take you at least 2 hours to eat. They serve you one side of the menu-totally, then you pick your entree and desert. When we sailed on her she was only about 6 months old, so there were a few kinks here and there. By now, everything should be running smoothly. Hope you enjoy Princess as much as we do, they're our favorite line, so far.
