Having read the port in Ft. Lauderdale was damaged after Wilma danced through, I called to see if our cruise would be affected. C/S rep at the 800 number said no as of today, the Star would be going out of Miami instead. She said everyone would get notified to this effect shortly. We are driving from NC to FL (company car - read: free transpotation) so the more notice the better. The C/S rep gave me an 800 number to call - think she referred to this as an enroute C/S phone number. The number she gave was 1/800/545-0008. Thought I would post this in case there are others with the same scenario.

Cathy - not even remotely ready to travel. I finally finished work related stuff yesterday, so I'll be flying through closets & drawers for the next two days - hope we don't look like hobos (hmmmmm. . . is that a politically incorrect term now?) as we meander thru the Western Caribean. Anyway, it's down time we really need right now! Thanks for checking with your friend for us. You've been so very helpful this week. Sue

Hi Sue,

Here is an update for you:

Tropical Weather Update -- Star Princess Itinerary Changes October 30 and November 6, 2005

The port of Cozumel sustained substantial damage from Hurricane Wilma, and it is therefore necessary to suspend our calls there for the next two sailings. The itineraries for these modified Star Princess cruises are below:

Voyage 9537 Departing October 30, 2005

The call in Cozumel has been cancelled, however the ship will drop anchor in Cozumel to deliver relief supplies to assist victims of the storm. Additionally, the port order has been revised. The new itinerary is:

Date Arrive Depart Port
Sunday, October 30 5 pm Port Everglades
Monday, October 31 At sea
Tuesday, November 1 Anchor at Cozumel to deliver relief supplies
Wednesday, November 2 12 pm 7 pm Grand Cayman
Thursday, November 3 9 am 4 pm Ocho Rios
Friday, November 4 At sea
Saturday, November 5 9 am 4 pm Princess Cays
Sunday, November 6 7 am Port Everglades

Good Luck with packing.
I will keep you posted with any info I get.
