Howdy! Has anyone been to any "movies under the stars" on any Princess ship? What was it like and do they play movies previously seen or recent releases? http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

We've been to them on the Sea and they were recent releases. They give you headphones for the day and turn the sound on at night. Great place to relax at the end of a busy day. Of course, I'm usually in the casino, but my husband enjoyed the movies a lot. Best Wishes!

We've never been on a princess ship with movies under the stars. I heard it gets crowded in the evenings. Did you have to make reservations to get a chair?

No, we didn't have to make reservations. It does get busy, however, there are plenty of places to view the movie from. A lot of people go to the shows (live shows), the nightclubs, and the casino, so I don't think you'll have any problems. Have a wonderful cruise!

You shouldn't have a problem getting a decent seat for MUTS in the evenings at all. They show movies that are in Blockbuster and can be rented. They are newer at night than they are during the day - yes they show movies, concerts, etc. all day long. During the day it's all family friendly things as there are kids in the pool.

Are the mosquitos bad at night? That was one of the things I always hated about the drive in theaters.

Are you implying that they show porn at night?

Mosquitos, at sea?!? http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_confused.gif But, just like the drive in, you could always break out the citronella candles.

We did MUTS on Caribbean Princess. We did have to make reservations. The films were new releases. They put very nice cushions on the lounges and even provide a blanket. No bugs. Popcorn is free and they offer other "movie" type snacks are sold.

We recently attended MUTS ib the Caribbean Princess, it was great.

Movies Under the Stars:
I had read quite a bit about Movies Under the Stars, a unique, innovative idea Princess has introduced on three of their ships and will also have it on the new Crown Princess that will sail a Caribbean itinerary out of the port of New York. The write-ups do not do it justice; it is a fabulous idea. If youíre a movie buff, run to the phone and call your agent as soon as you can and book a Princess ship that has this feature. I guarantee you will absolutely love it. The screen is unlike anything you or I have seen. It is a 300 sq. ft. screen, with a LED projection system that allows you to watch movies during bright sunlight the same as you do at night. You can view it from three decks. You can also view it while swimming, while relaxing in a hot tub, or cuddled up with your loved one under a blanket, while a waiter fetches you a drink and pop-corn. Tell me, how in the world can you beat that. They usually show four or five movies during the day and two first run movies at night, and fill in with concerts of famous entertainers like Tom Jones, Tina Turner and you name it and they have it. For movie buffs itís worth the price of a cruise.

Warm regards,
