Folks its an older ship does not many of the ammenities as the newer ships do
I think however you would be hard pressed to meet a harder working friendlier staff anywhere else
having done over 100 cruises i can pretty much state this with certainty

However I do feel the Regal has one department in which it is lacking it is its cruise staff, it has fallen off dramatically since i was there the last time at Christmas. what a fine collection of young guys they had working and the lone girl...she was so cute and perky

Now they have "princess Wilma" (Will) Garcia as the Senior assistant Cruise director. how this guy mainatains his job beggars belief he is the the poster boy for unprofessionalism and insincerity. I feel as do many of my table mates and friends made on board that this area is currently the REGALS weakest point my advise is to avoid any activities with this "gentleman" his off colour jokes and comments and his passing the buck to his staff attitude just dont wash. What a Come down from the Team of Brian Price , James, Josh Dave and Shelby and David C they made a Christmas Cruise a Cruise to remember Will and co. made it one to forget

Oh and for the record the REGAL I've heard is slated for teh first of its 2 refits in Dry dock some time later in the year I might go back on it just to see the Refit and hopefully they have moved switched the Casino and stage door around. You know it makes sense for those of you that have travelled on her

Thanks for you input. Going on Regal Sept.26-Oct.6,2005. Where can I, for sure, find out if Regal has been upfitted. TA said it was in Nov. 2004. But sometimes you don't always get truth from TA. Since you have been on a lot of cruises, is a Suite worth extra money? We were told again by TA that we have complementary dry cleaning/laundry, new beautyrest mattress, etc. Any info.on Regal will be appreciated. Thanks

Hello. We just got off the Regal, we did a 10 day Alaska cruise on her. We left July 7th. The girl who ran the "future cruise" office, never mentioned a refit. She did say Princess is going to retire her after her summer season next year. The Regal will be in a different cruise line in Europe. If I remember correctly, she said the new Crown Princess, and some other ship will pick up the Regal's itinerary. As far as the cruise director goes, I only remember that the cruise director was from wales, with a thick british accent, who was alot of fun. I don't remember a Will Garcia. The Regal did have quite a bit of plumbing problems that we heard of. We had an inside room, so I can not comment on a suite. Although, the last day when people were leaving the ship, the top floor was mostly empty, and lots of stateroom doors were left open. So, I found a suite, it was on the top floor and the suite actually had a name on its door, for example, the "St. Tropez Suite". Anyways, I walked inside to check it out. We had a junior suite on the Explorer of the Seas on Royal Carribean the year before. Basically the junior suite on the Explorer was a large room with a large balcony. I did think the extra money was worth it for a junior suite. We did not get any freebies for being in that category of suites. I was curious to see this one. I liked the suite on the Regal better. It actually had a bedroom that was separate from the living area. I didn't notice a door between the two, but the bedroom was in its own little room set back from the living area. I don't know what kind of suite you have. I am sure you will be happy with it. I also have to agree with Waterboy, the staff was very friendly. They served lobster on the second formal night. The ship was beautiful, even for being an older gal. Anyways, I kinda rambled on. I would direct your refit question to Raoul, I think he is an administrator (or something like that), for this chat site. Enjoy the Regal and your cruise, you leave soon. Bye, Lil' Lori
