I always thought the main town was also named Roatan, and that is where the dock is. But according to wiki, the town's name is Coxen Hole. If you go to google maps and enter Roatan you'll see the pier west of the airport.
I am assuming this is about Princess ships. The Crown Princess for one ties up at Carnival Corp.'s new Mahogany Bay cruise ship facility.
There is a compressed PDF File HERE of the facility.
I thought the area where the Carnival ships used to dock was called Roatan Town, and the new facility was at Coxen Hole. I just remember the bus going by there and someone saying that Carnival was building a pier there and it was Coxen Hole. Of course this was the same person (in charge of a private excursion) that made us be late for the ship by doing a second dive at CoCo-View.
I don't think she had her watch set right for the local vs ship time after the ship went back to EST from DST or something. That is the only time I have had to run to a ship!
We were there a few years ago & they were building the new dock at Coxen Hole but I think it was NCL but I could be wrong
It was a short walk to town from the port area. http://travel.webshots.com/pho...78850101934561wiKBhS

The new Mahogany Bay area is very nice. There's a beach right where you dock that's very clean and there are quite a few shops there. There's also a gelato stand that was yummy and a Fat Tuesdays. This is where the Carnival ships docked, not sure if Princess will dock there, too, but they should. Carnival PLC sunk 70 million dollars into the area. It's a very tight entrance that they back into.
I think it is about 2 miles east(?). I could see another ship (maybe HAL or Celebrity) off to our starboard side. I believe that was the original port, where we were the first time we went to Roatan.
