When asked why was told they are able to do this (read small print!) As was never informed of this by TA and travelling with elderly mother kicked up a fuss saying my first trip with them and not impressed (true!) Luckily my son in travel business and was able to tell me plenty of direct flight seats available that day on same airline we go out on. I informed Princess was aware of this and got out of them they "block book" certain people onto cheapest route. Just beware of this if flying from UK particularly, and ask at outset if flights direct! I hope this is not bad omen and cruise will be all I expect it to be - really looking forward to it just hope we see a little sunshine at some point!

They book in a low block booking class and it is always advisable to pay the 50-75 dollar service fee to select your own flights. By doing this early you may get exactly what you want at the low price and not have to pay anymore to get the "perfect" flights. Princess air deviation department has always been very easy to work with getting help for the flights we want and well worth the service fee. I image this is possible in the UK also.
I'm sorry to hear that your flights are unacceptable. Have you talked to your TA about getting them changed? If there are seats available on direct flights at this late date it will probably cost you a lot more money for these seats at this late date. I don't know if air deviation works at this late date but it would be worth a try.
