Hi Eveyone,

I have a question about our cabin. We are on the Grand Princess on the Emerald Deck (Obstructed View) according to the map of the ship there is no lifeboat infront of our window, but i know the cabins are set back away from the side of the ship. My question is what is the view like, can you see the water, or is it machinery, do lights from the promenade pour in? Also do they have blackout curtains, one of my favorite thing about inside cabins is the complete darkness of the room. Any insight would be great!

We had an outside/obstructed view cabin on Emeral deck on the Sapphire. There was a life boat right outside our window that did block 1/3 of the view, but it was definately not a problem. We could still see plenty from the window.

There are lights on at night, but the curtains on the Sapphire were sufficient to darken the cabin.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, It does help.

This cruise is getting interesting, deaths in South America, the grand pulling a 180 at 15 knots, and now a fire on the Star...... I can only imagine what story i will come back with.

I just returned from the Golden (E704).

I am trying to attach photos so you can see but, having trouble. If you go to my album you can take a look at the photos.

Some views are more unobstructed than others.

The curtains do have darkeners attached & it will be dark - if properly closed.

Hope you enjoy your cruise.

Cathy
