Hi,

Could anyone suggest when getting a balcony room on Emerald Princess which is the best?

Also what is the best deck to get a balcony on?

Thanks
J & S

If you want a standard sise balcony cabin the best ones on the ship are the catagory BB balcony cabins on the aft of the ship. This would include E734 and E735; D734 and D735; C752 and C753; And B748 through B757. C752, C753, and B748 and B749 would be my first choice because they on the corners and have wider fields of view.

If you want a mini-suite the catagory AD minis on Emerald deck are the best because they are covered, E730 and E731 being first choice because they are the very last ones and the balconies are much larger than the others--almost twice the size.

I'm glad that f-mattox answered you because I really don't have any preference. We've stayed on different decks, in different balconies and they all were great to me http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif I am just so happy to have a balcony, such wonderful views. I love it when I see dolphin running along side of us.

Penny, I couldn't agree with you more: any balcony on the ship is fine with me; in fact, any cabin is fine. I've had plenty of insides and oceanviews over the years. But if you book when the bookings open and have "the run of the ship", well, the ones I listed are some of my favorites.

I totally agree with the any cabin is fine http://bestsmileys.com/happy/7.gif I love balconies, though. One day I'd love to try a mini-suite http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif

Hey F-Mattox,

I am going to jot down on those balcony staterooms numbers for safekeeping that you have suggested to J and S. I doubt I will get upgraded to a balcony for my upcoming Xmas cruise. Oh, well. THe ship is just too full and they got all so much waitlisted.

Hi pink845; keep in mind those are just my personal favorites; many people would rather be more centrally located at midship; or even forward. In fact my favorite mini suites on Island Princess and Coral Princess are up on Baja Deck and all the way forward. I like the aft because that's where I spend most of my time: The Horizon Court, Terrace pool, Outrigger Bar, Traditional Dinig Room, Skywalker's and Vista Lounge (or Club Fusion) are all aft.

Another thing to keep in mind: on those aft balconies, when at sea, you will hear a mild roar from the churn; the lower you are the more noticeable it will be. Now I happen to love that sound--I even leave the balcony door open at night so I can hear it--but not everybody does. What you won't have is vibration and noise from the engines--a common misconception.
