Princess is outdoing it self lately in the extra charges category. They have begun to charge for cranberry juice aboard their ships due to the pax using it for mixers with their private stock so in order to put a stop to the practice they're now charging for the stuff. What's next? Charging for OJ or perhaps a charge for all camera's brought aboard since we don't buy theirs.
This is only what I've been reading. It first disappeared from the Grand in April & was missing from the Star last week & the Coral in May, the Caribbean 3 weeks ago. On the Grand the manager told a passenger that although it wasn't on the menu it could be ordered. He was told not to mention the fact that he was getting cranberry juice in the morning because people were using it for mixers in the room and wanted to put a stop to it. They were in the process of taking it off the menu fleet wide.
I really never paid any attention to how much they charge for any juice that has to be ordered. Something like $1.95 a glass maybe. ON out last cruise the cabin steward got my wife a glass of prune juice & said it was an extra in housekeeping but any more orders would be at a charge.
Good night, Irene, so what if people are drinking Cranberry Juice in their rooms. I mean, come on, don't they make enough off of us? Ok, I'm sorry, I said that, but good grief Charlie Brown, when do they cease and desist with this stuff. Why not orange juice, don't people drink screw drivers? I like Cranberry juice once in a while, it won't be a show stopper not to have it, but it's just sad to see these things happen. I watched many people taking advantage of the soda cards. One person would buy one and then hand it off to many. I can see it from both sides of the coin, but would really imagine the cruise lines have to build some of that into the fares.
