Will we be able to watch the Olimpics on the Emerald Princess when we are at sea.
thanks chuckles |
They usually have at least ESPN and a station from the states. If it is on either of those stations, then you will be able to watch. However, I doubt you'll be spending much time watching tv http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif

Penny,it's not for me.My sons wanted to know, because they love their hockey. If I thought of even thinking of watching hockey my wife would drop me off at the first port.

The thing is the Winter Olympics is an NBC deal so ESPN won't be showing anything other than highlights. Thus they will be showing it on NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC, and whatever other channels NBC has under it's umbrella. Given it is the Olympics I'd expect they will be showing at least some of it but there is no way to say absolutely yes or no.
Frankly I think ice hockey is one sport that translates poorly to TV, unlike football or basketball which can be better on TV than in person. |
As Dave mentioned, the Olympics are on the networks of NBC. Here is the site for them, and if you click on "TV Listings" you can select your local TV provider and local NBC station. I know this doesn't help on a cruise, so you'll probably have to resort to highlights on ESPN.

Dave -- I'm thinking you are not Canadian!

Hockey is our number one sport!!!! It's the best sport to watch on TV and our families will be glue to the TV during these games in Vancouver.

Dave, I think it's the going to a fight and a hockey game broke out that is the attraction. http://bestsmileys.com/lol/21.gif
