Panama Train Trip

Has anyone taken the train ride excursion in Panama? Was it worth the money? How were the crowds?

I have not done it personally, but, heard rave reviews about this tour.

As many times as I have done the canal cruise still awed by the locks - perhaps next time I'll do a tour.

we have done the train trip. it was well worth the money. it was the best tour we have ever taken. the train is an old train restored. you travel along the path of the canal. then you stop at one of the locks and sit and and watch ships go through the locks from a platform right there, you also see a movie about how the locks operate and were built. then you get back on the train to go back to the ship. they also serve a light lunch on the train. we have pictures of the train, inside and out if you are interested

Thank you Mr. Bill. The wife and I decided last evening to go ahead and give it a try. We're not much into the ship's excursions. We like to head out on our own. But we wanted to make sure we saw the canal on this cruise. Thanks again for replying.
