Transfers to ship

We have booked our air and transfer through Princess to the Sun Princess departing April 7 from Ft.Lauderdale.Do we collect our luggage first at the baggage claim, them find the transfer bus, or does princess collect our luggage? If Princess collects, then how do they know they have collected all? Where do we find the transfer bus? PLEASE HELP!!!

The information details should be in your documents when you get them (expect them to arrive 3-4 weeks before your sailing date). Most likely you will need to claim your bags and then find the Princess rep, who will probably be somewhere in the vicinity of baggage claim. They will direct you to the transfer point.

If you really need to know beforehand, ask your TA to find out for you, or call Princess.

They will also let you know of the procedure towards the end of the cruise.

As you are using ship's transfers, when you get your cruise ticket packet (roughly 3 weeks before the cruise), make sure it contains transfer vouchers for each of you. Your TA can easily correct it before the cruise in this unlikely scenario.

Usually at the FLL airport the Princess Reps are downstairs in the Luggage Claim area.
They are there to greet you as you come down the escalator. Once you collect your luggage let the rep know.
**BE SURE TO PLACE THE PRINCESS TAGS ON YOUR LUGGAGE **
They will then direct you to an area where you will wait for the bus. Depending on your arrival time you may wait at the airport - giving the ship time for turnaround.
The Princess Rep will then guide you to the bus for transfer. Usually a short walk outside the building. You line the luggage up to be placed on the bus & give your transfer voucher (located in your ticket book). They load you on the air conditioned bus while the driver puts all the luggage onboard. Be sure to keep out your ticket book & passport/ID.
When you arrive at the Cruise Ship Terminal the driver unloads the bus - again - anything you need get it now, as the porters will be taking the luggage & it takes some time before you get it. So if you need medication keep it out, or pack some shorts or a bathing suit in your carry-on.
Princess Embarkation is usually painless. You may need to wait in a line, again, depending on timing. Be sure to fill out your pre-cruise documents, or else you have to take time here to do it.

For Disembarkation just as easy.
Your luggage is collected after dinner time the final night. Again, be sure to keep out what you need.
Princess asks that you wait to disembark in one of the lounges or outdecks.
They use a color coded method. When you here your color you proceed off the ship. Go thru customs.
The same terminal building will now have your luggage color coded/arranged. Get all of your luggage & go outside, where the Reps will direct you to the transfer buses.
Sometimes if you get off the ship early & your bus is not full you may sit for awhile to get a bus load.
