Princess owned by Carnival?

Probably a dumb question....but I was curious if the Princess Lines are owned by Carnival...I've never traveled on Carnival but I am thinking of a 10 day Panama Canal Trip on Princess....I'm planning on going while the kids are still in school....Although I'm in my 40's I'm not looking for that "party ship" reputation that Carnival has.Thanks for your answer and understanding.

If you look here you will see all the lines owned by Carnival Corporation, and yes it includes Princess. However each line has kept it's individual identity and Carnival has done a great job at not homogenizing things. They are to be applauded for this. Princess has it's own atmosphere and is not a Carnival clone.

It is important to make the distinction that Carnival Cruise Line doesn't own Princess, but rather Carnival Corporation owns Princess.

Hi Shari, Princess is not like Carnival. Princess has changed since taken over by Carnival, but not by the way of becoming a "party ship" atmosphere. However, Carnival has changed and is no longer the "party ship" they once were.
