Champagne in cabin at boarding time

Does anyone know if its possible to have a bottle of champagne in your cabin when you board? The last Princess cruise we went on, I ordered a bottle, but there was only a certificate to get a bottle, not the actual bottle. I took it to the wine bar and they said we could only use it for room service.

We love to have a bottle of champagne waiting for us to enjoy on our balcony after boarding.

We've had iced champagne waiting for us on Princess cruises before, courtesy of our agent. Leaving a coupon in your cabin seems a bit tacky. Have you looked at the gift section on the Princess website?

Thats exactly what we thought. When we did our 14 day cruise to hawaii, I called and ordered a bottle directly from princess and when we got there, there was a certificate, which could only be used for room service, which doesn't answer on boarding days... I will try to give them a call and see if they can actually leave the bottle this time.

Royal Caribbean actually has the option to do so, when you order it online.

You can take one bottle per person onboard with you; it dosen't take long to chill down.
