First Princess Cruise.....any information helpful....

J and S 02-22-2010 09:23 AM

What cruise?

What ship?

penny3333 02-22-2010 10:45 AM

The Emerald Princess is a beautiful ship. She is huge, too. The Sanctuary is a great way to spend an afternoon at sea, it's $10/pp for a half day. Sabatini's and the Crown Grill are both wonderful, but are extra charge. The main dining room food is wonderful. Not sure what else you would like to know, so if you'll ask the questions, we'll try to answer

Thanks Penny...good to talk with you again. Is it a stable ship when seas are rough...?

penny3333 02-23-2010 06:08 AM

Very stable, most of the time I didn't know we were moving unless I went out on the balcony. When we'd pull away from port, the only telling thing was the shower curtain. Of course, that always sticks to me

Hi Penny, What is the policy on Pass Port requirments while off of the ship as well as when article on robbery and pass pots taken..? What form of ID should you only carry while off of the ship.
Thamks, Jim

We just take our driver's license and our ship card. The only time they told us to take our passports was in Trinidad. We were met with their local security upon reboarding and they actually did take our passports (not to keep, they just wanted to verify). Every other port, our license and ship card were fine.

The point is that you will need some sort of photo ID. Lots of people do not have a driver license as in the case of my wife. The only photo id is her passport, which we always carry with us, including me.

I have been on this ship and it's sister Crown. I'm somewhat easy to please, however I give it perfect scores in all areas. The outdoor theater (movies under the stars) is great, but get there early and reserve a good lounge area. Plenty of pools and hot tubs, and the Sanctuary (see Penny's comments) is outstanding for total relaxation, but also get there early in the AM to sign up for either the morning or afternoon times, as space is limited. In the Caribbean you really cannot feel the ship moving, but we did have a rough night in the Atlantic where we were rocked a little. Your state room position will make a difference here...if you're high up and more towards the front or back you'll feel it more than if you were lower and centered.
