Golden Princess Gratuities

Hi everyone.

I saw the policy on Princess' website, but just want to make sure I understand it correctly, as this is different than RCI. From what I understand, the gratuities are automatically added to my account on a daily basis, at $11.50 per day ($12 for suite guests). Do they do anything else, such as envelopes, if we want to give a staff member more than the recommended amount? As most of us seasoned cruisers know, the gratuities are basically the staff's salaries.

Of course you can always give more. You can either put cash in envelopes or just have the automatic amount increased by the guest relations desk, where you can also get the envelopes.

The only problem I have with increasing the automatic amount is that it doesn't go to a specific individual and is spread out among all the crew. Not that they don't also deserve a gratuity but if you want to tip an individual, use the envelope & give it directly to him or her.

Thanks Dave and Rich. This is my first cruise on Princess, so if I have any more questions that I think of between now and the time I leave, I'll post them in the appropriate section.
