Royal Princess Offers Many Dining Choices

Pizza, elegant desserts, buffets, the new Royal Princess has a lot to offer. Press Release

Most of the items are at additional cost. There doesn't appear to be much of anything new that's included in the base price of the cruise.

Alfredo's is the only "new" venue that doesn't come at an additional cost. There has always been pizza available by the pool but we haven't seen an inside "made to order" pizzeria since the Sun Class ships and also the original Crown Princess and Regal Princess.

What does Alfredo's serve? Sounds like just pizza which we don't normally eat on a ship. I think in all my years of sailing I've eaten 3 slices just to try it.

Excerpt from the Princess press release:

Alfredo’s –Serving up fresh, hand-tossed Neapolitan-style pizzas hot out of the oven, Alfredo’s pizzeria has quickly become a passenger favorite since its debut aboard Grand Princess in 2011. Aboard Royal Princess the sit-down restaurant’s complimentary menu will be expanded to include a variety of Italian antipasti, soup and salads, a hearty calzone and pizza baguette, and delicious baked pastas in addition to desserts. Alfredo’s will offer more spacious seating and an open kitchen where passengers can watch as chefs craft the best pizza at sea.

That's pretty much the same menu they had (or maybe still have) on the Sun Class ships, although only Sun Princess and Sea Princess are left and they are based in Australia. The pizza by the pools is okay but the made-to-order are really outstanding.
